REBRAND + WEBSITE LAUNCH :: JB Knacker
If you are like me, you love to go looking for good junk! I love vintage finds and I am always inspired when I go shopping at an antique shop, garage sale or vintage store. As you can imagine, I had a blast rebranding JB Knacker. This adorable vintage shop located in Gilbert Iowa, has a variety of neat finds from furniture, home decor items, vintage artwork, season and unique handmade stuff! If you have an weekend open and are looking for the perfect find for a project or just want to look around, its a great place to shop and a fun project to work on. Jumping into this rebrand, we knew it needed an update but still a vintage farmhouse feel without feeling dated. I took a hand drawn vintage approach for the look. I designed a floral illustration to pair with the watercolored faded logo and sub mark that is incorporated in different areas of the brand.

Lucky Star Market
Lucky Star Market is a place where both emerging and experienced artists, designer, crafters and vintage collectors can set up their own "shop", showcase their talents and meet their customers. We are a "pop-up", seasonal market launching in Ames, Iowa to encourage and support creative entrepreneurs, inspire Central Iowans to shop locally and bring a truly unique experience to the Ames area. I have had the opportunity to work with Jody Bennet, market founder the last two markets and work along side her as the co-director. I have gotten to work with her and a small team of others to help execute both the spring and holiday markets. In addition to designing the new logo, I have helped with the postcard design, poster + signage design and social media organization. I also set up my own little pop up shop for DillyLou for these markets, showcasing my Chalkshop.

Root Make Up
I wanted to share about my journey with Root make up. Root is company based out of Waverly, Iowa (my hometown, woot!) that makes all natural, gluten free, vegan, mineral make up - free of toxins and fillers. About 1 year ago, I started using Root products and I have not gone back since. Not only are they affordable, they make my skin feel amazing. I have truly been impressed by this company and their products and the new ones they continue to make. They also have some adorable marketing and that is always a plus for me!
A few months back- Root announced they were having their 2016 Root Model Search on instagram. They were looking for 1 Spokesmodel and 10 Root Models to represent them on instagram and share about their products. I decided to enter into the contest with my selfies and give it a shot. I have never taken so many selfies in my life...seriously. This contest was intense and took a couple months with 6 rounds to narrow down the search. Starting with around 500 entries and finishing with 11 ladies. I feel so honored to share with you that I was chosen as 1 of the 10 Root Models. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to represent such an amazing company that does not sacrifice quality in their products.
Below are some of my photos used for the contest and my video for the final round. You can also see my tutorial video here. I had a lot of fun being creative with these videos and had to quickly teach myself how to edit in imovie.
So what does a Root model do?
I share my root selfies on my personal instagram, post about products a few times a week and sometimes get to work on extra specials projects. (like Root Valentines)This has been so fun and a natural process for me as it's easy to share about things I love.
If you are interested in trying Root make up you can find their products at Rootpretty.com. Check out their Pretty Blog where they share tips on Root products and feature different make up tutorials. They also have some awesome videos showing their make up color swatches. (especially helpful if you are looking for a certain color)
For any new customers you can get 10% off with my code- Just use "haleigh" in the promo code when you check out. :)

Interior Design Background
I wanted to share a little bit about myself and my background in design. I actually did not go to school for graphic design, but have a BFA in Interior Design from Iowa State University. Doesn't seem too much different, considering some of the graphic design projects I work on are created for an interior space. (Chalkshop) I also have a portfolio of interior design work I have done over the last few years. Here is a few of the spaces I had the opportunity to design.
